"Flash fiction is just a fancy term for really, really short stories."
After what seems like years, it feels good. "It" being writing something that need not be written.
Thanks to Anna for drawing attention to this project - part of the 2011 Emerging Writer's Festival EWFdigital programme - which calls for stories between 20-200 words inspired by photographs from Melbourne. Thanks to Angelica East and David Witteveen for the place to play in.
Thanks also to Sunday Salons for access to the third way of ambitious actions.
*Title from Dead Kennedys' "Short Songs", Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death (1987)
I'm hungry and inspired. I'm keen to try writing more 20-200 word pieces inspired by photos. Do you have a photo? Can I publish it here, along with something written in response to it? Really? That would be ace. Please let me know. |
